Humans Up Close

Humans Up Close

You Are a Work of Art, And I Want to Prove It

An open invitation to participate in “Humans Up Close,” a new photography project celebrating the extraordinary detail of the human form.

There is a freckle on your collarbone that tells a story. A curve behind your ear that no one has ever truly noticed. A texture on the back of your hand that, under the right light, looks like a landscape photographed from space.

You walk through life in a body that is endlessly, quietly remarkable, and most of us never stop to really see it.

That’s exactly what Humans Up Close is here to change.

What Is “Humans Up Close”?

Humans Up Close is a fine-art photography project built on a single, powerful idea: that every human being is a universe of detail waiting to be seen.

The project explores the body not as a whole, but as a collection of extraordinary parts, abstract micro-shots, rich textures, subtle forms, and intimate details that most cameras never think to find. Some images will be immediately recognizable. Others will feel like landscapes, architecture, or pure abstraction. All of them will be undeniably, beautifully human.

The final collection will live in three places: shared across social media to spark a wider conversation about beauty and form, compiled into a printed book or magazine, and ultimately exhibited in a gallery space where these details can be experienced the way they deserve, large, luminous, and impossible to look away from.

This is collaborative art. And I am looking for collaborators.

This Project Is For You, Yes, You

Let’s be clear from the very beginning: this project is open to everyone.

Every age. Every gender. Every body type. Every background. Every story written on skin, in bone, in the quiet geometry of a face or a hand or a knee. There is no version of a human being that doesn’t belong here, and there is no such thing as an “ideal” participant. The entire point is that beauty isn’t one thing. It’s everything, and it looks like all of us.

If you’ve ever been made to feel like your body doesn’t measure up, I want to gently, firmly, and sincerely tell you: this project was made with you in mind.

What to Expect: Safety, Comfort & Complete Control

I know that an invitation like this can stir up a lot of feelings, excitement, curiosity, maybe a little nervousness. That’s completely natural, and it’s something I’ve thought about deeply. Here’s what I want you to know before anything else:

Your comfort is the only thing that matters in that room.

This project is led by a photographer with 15 years of professional experience, someone who has spent a career building trust with subjects, creating calm environments, and making people feel genuinely at ease in front of a lens. You will be in skilled, respectful, and professional hands from the moment you walk in.

Here’s exactly what you can expect:

  • Wardrobe is completely your choice. There’s no dress code and no expectation. Wear what makes you feel comfortable, whether that’s your favorite outfit, athletic wear, or something more minimal. Some wardrobe options will be available on-site if you’d like them.
  • Nudity is optional, full stop. While some participants may choose to pose without clothing, this is entirely your decision and yours alone. It will never be assumed, suggested, or pressured. Whatever you’re comfortable with is the right choice.
  • Bring your people. You are warmly encouraged to bring a friend, partner, family member, or chaperone to your session. Having someone in your corner can make all the difference, and they are genuinely welcome.
  • You can remain completely anonymous. If you’d prefer that no one could identify you in a published image, I’ll make that happen. Close-up and abstract framing already lends itself naturally to anonymity, and if you want that guaranteed, I’ll guarantee it.
  • Nothing goes public without your explicit approval. Every single participant receives final say over which images, if any, are shared or published. You will review images before anything moves forward. Your consent is not a formality here. It is the foundation of this entire project.

This is your experience. I’m just here to help you create something extraordinary within it.

Here’s What You Get in Return

Participating in Humans Up Close is completely free of charge, because art belongs to everyone, and your time and trust are already the most generous gifts you could offer this project.

But as a sincere thank-you for being part of something meaningful, every participant receives:

High-quality digital copies of the project images from your session, stunning, fine-art photographs you can keep, print, and treasure.

A complimentary professional portrait or headshot session during your time with us. Whether you need updated LinkedIn photos, a fresh author bio image, a new profile picture, or simply a set of portraits you’ll actually love, I’ve got you covered, completely on the house.

You came to make art. You’ll leave with art made of and for you.

Ready to Be Seen?

If something in this invitation spoke to you, even quietly, even just a flicker of maybe, I’d love to hear from you.

Applying is simple and pressure-free. Reach out to express your interest, ask any questions you have (truly, no question is too small), and I’ll take it one step at a time from there. There’s no commitment in a conversation.

Sessions are being scheduled on a rolling basis, and space is limited to ensure every participant receives the time, attention, and care they deserve. I’d hate for you to miss your spot.

“Humans Up Close” is a celebration of detail, of diversity, of the quiet magnificence that lives in every single one of us. I hope you’ll be part of it.

Come as you are. That’s always been enough.

Questions? Curiosities? I welcome all of them. Reach out anytime at [contact information]. I’ll respond personally, because this project is personal, in all the best ways.
